Marie-Christine Seiler specialises in legal issues and disputes in the field of intellectual property and unfair competition. She advises clients in connection with trade marks, designs and copyrights as well as on unfair competition issues. Her work includes the drafting of IP strategies and, if necessary after clarification and registration of the IP right, extends to the enforcement of her clients’ rights against third parties, whether in court or contractually, for example in coexistence or licence agreements.

Marie-Christine Seiler has extensive experience in conducting proceedings before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office, before the German civil courts (including interim injunction) and the courts of the EU (European Court of Justice). This also applies to the management of large, international IP portfolios, in particular in the areas of foodstuffs, food supplements and pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, fashion, art/design objects.

Marie-Christine Seiler studied in Munich and Wellington, New Zealand. She worked in the legal departments of well-known German companies in the fields of medical technology and pharmaceuticals on secondment. She is active as Vice-Chair of the Harmonization Committee and German member of the Supervisory Board of ECTA (European Communities Trade Mark Association). She gives and moderates lectures and presentations. In her free time, she loves being active in the mountains with her family and is passionate about the fine arts.
