Claudia Deppe

Claudia Deppe focuses on advising brand owners on the development, implementation, and regular adjustment of trademark strategies and licensing matters. She supports German and international clients in managing their worldwide trademark portfolios, which includes the filing of trademarks as well as the representation of clients in opposition, appeal, and invalidation proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Claudia Deppe also represents clients in infringement cases before the courts as well as in out-of-court negotiations and advises clients on the legality of marketing activities in light of competition regulations.

She studied law at the Julius-Maximilian University of Würzburg. During her studies, she successfully completed a foreign internship in an international law firm in India. In 2008, she acquired a further degree as Certified Specialized Attorney in the field of intellectual property law.

Before Claudia Deppe joined Merx Pütz Rechtsanwälte in April 2025, she worked as the responsible in-house counsel of a medium-sized company in Munich and as an attorney for IP matters in renowned international law firms, her main focus being trademark and competition law.

Claudia Deppe also is a certified mediator and supports companies in out-of-court settlements of conflicts. By mediation disputes can be resolved permanently and satisfactorily for all parties.

Claudia Deppe is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
